I graduated from WCCMT in 2001. My massage therapy practice has always led me to work with women’s health, especially during the childbearing years. Upon graduating I pursued many of the wonderful continuing education opportunities that Douglas College offers including their Doula training, Breastfeeding Education training, and their Anatomy and Physiology of the Childbearing year program. Having 3 kids of my own, I know firsthand the benefits of receiving regular massage therapy during pregnancy and beyond.

I have also completed many continuing education classes with a focus on myofascial, craniosacral, and visceral techniques. I welcome all people to my practice to enjoy the many benefits of massage therapy. When I am not working, I am most likely in the garden, running around with my kids, husband, and dog, singing, doing yoga, and enjoying all the beauty that is around me! My approach to massage therapy revolves around establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, as I firmly believe this connection is pivotal to the recovery process. I am eagerly looking forward to creating a safe and welcoming environment for my patients.

I am a recent graduate from VCMT and am eager to begin my practice as an RMT.

I am originally from Ontario and worked as a chef for the past 6 years. My time in Lake Louise exposed me to a variety of outdoor activities that I grew to love. My decision to become an RMT was inspired by other RMTs who guided me through recovery and education for multiple acquired injuries. In addition, my passion for self growth and desire to help others improve and optimize body function through massage therapy and education led me to finally making a switch.

Aside from Swedish massage, I can provide symptom management and rehabilitation of multiple orthopedic pathologies including but not limited to, muscle sprains and strains, tendonitis, frozen shoulder, TMJ dysfunction; and chronic pain issues with techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy and neuromuscular techniques. I am also trained in management of symptoms of multiple systemic conditions such as, pregnancy; and central nervous system and peripheral nervous system pathologies (such as MS and carpal tunnel syndrome respectively).

I intend to work with you to achieve your personal goals whether recovery or performance.

I grew up on Gabriola Island and moved to Vancouver in 2001 where I have spent the last 20 years working in all avenues of hospitality and service. Being in the hospitality industry has been a great experience learning so much about people and very useful life skills. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience in that industry but made the important decision to change my path, and find a field that focuses on physical health and maintenance of the body.

I made the decision to return to school in 2021 and am a recent graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy school in December of 2022. I moved to Vancouver to pursue a BA in music, but ultimately was looking for something more therapeutic and hands on. I decided to switch my focus into becoming an RMT and I graduated from WCCMT in 2007.

I always had a fascination with pregnancy, birth and babies. This fascination turned into a passion as I dove into the massage therapy profession. I have been immersed in Women’s Health my whole career, educating myself with pregnancy, labour, postnatal care, C-section prep and recovery as well as classes focused on the pelvis, TMJ, CranioSacral work, spinal alignment, headaches and migraines. When I’m not focused on pregnancy or postnatal massage, my other favourite people to treat are infants. It just became a natural progression.

My nurturing and intuitive nature creates a safe space for patients to be in a balanced and healthy state by incorporating the best treatment approach for their lifestyle. I have the ability to treat at any depth while still being gentle and my treatments are uniquely formulated to fit the needs of my patients. I often include the use of myofascial and trigger point release techniques, Swedish massage, joint mobilization, lymphatic drainage, CranioSacral Therapy while offering practical home care advice.

After having experienced life as a pregnant person, two completely different births and what life is like once baby arrives, I understand the importance of empowerment, education and self care during this time. My big epiphany was that you not only birth a baby, but you birth into a mother. Also having two very active boys in sports, I am used to treating youths. I love to treat the whole family from babies to grandparents, and I welcome all people to my practice. I strongly believe in the ability of massage therapy to impact all levels of health at any age.

I graduated from WCCMT in 2001 and have been practicing massage therapy for over 20 years. I started the first decade of my career in East Van on Commercial Drive, then spent 8 years working in Lynn Valley on the North Shore. In March of 2019, Annie and I set up Sunrise Health Massage Therapy. I am truly delighted to have returned to my home turf in East Van and am eagerly reconnecting with my community through my practice.

Over the years, a keen interest in perinatal massage has led me to take several courses in this area. My 2 boys were born at home with the help of my midwife. Something that isn’t for everyone, but something that I will always cherish. This is an exciting time with lots going on. I find that patients typically have a lot of questions. No matter who is delivering your baby or where you are birthing, it is my honour to set your mind and body at ease so you can relax and get the care you deserve.

I am also a certified prenatal and postnatal exercise instructor. I feel that exercise is not only essential to a healthy pregnancy, but also to a good delivery and speedy recovery.

Of course, I treat many other conditions from acute injuries to chronic nagging ones. Preventing repetitive strain injuries whether from work or sports is of particular importance. Symptomatic relief can also be provided for systemic conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, MS, migraines, osteoporosis, and many others.

I am committed to offering my patients evidence based massage therapy techniques specifically tailored to that individual along with homecare instructions and patient education. I strongly believe that maintenance and prevention are key to providing quality health care and I strive to achieve this with each patient.

At home, I enjoy spending time with my husband, energetic boys and new cat Louis. We delight in cycling to New Brighton, the local farmer’s markets and to the Whitecaps games. Tending to my flower, fruit and vegetable gardens is an ongoing passion. And a good hike in the woods always makes me smile.

I am a proud member of the East Van Community and I am excited to support the well-being of my neighbours through massage therapy!

Creating a safe, ethical, and welcoming treatment environment is especially important to me. I value your life experience, input, and wisdom about your body as we co-create a treatment plan together. As a queer and neurodivergent person myself, I can appreciate the unique challenges many members of the community face when searching for fulfilling healthcare and therapeutic spaces. Regardless of your life story or identity, I am deeply committed to your goals, comfort, and well-being. My commitment to community service and accessibility is what led me to a career as an RMT.

As a recent graduate of VCMT, I received excellent training in a variety of massage therapy techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial, neuromuscular and proprioceptive techniques, as well as joint mobilization. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or just want to treat yourself to a relaxation massage, I am here to provide you with the relevant assessment, treatment, and home care suggestions to guide you towards your goals.

My graduating research case study was about the effects of relaxation massage targeting the central nervous system as a treatment plan for Fibromyalgia. At this time, I am most excited about working with chronic pain, disability, trauma, and chronic stress…but of course, I warmly welcome all clients.

When I am not working as an RMT, you can find me enjoying time in nature, playing a good video game, training for a sprint triathlon, hosting a potluck, or out supporting social causes.

I was born and raised in Toronto, but set my roots in the lovely and scenic Vancouver, BC. I had an established 20 year career as a costumer in the film industry, but felt it was time for a change, so I decided to pursue my long time passion of becoming an RMT. After graduating from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, I obtained my registration in 2016.

For the last 6 years, I have been working in a multidisciplinary clinic treating various conditions and injuries, having a baby and balancing work and motherhood. As amazing as parenthood is, I understand first hand how important having a good healthcare team can be before, during and after. Support, guidance and education is essential for first time parents or even seasoned ones. It’s ok, I got you.

My approach is simple “How can I help you today?” I centre around the patient’s needs and goals to make the treatment both effective and beneficial. I believe that through good communication, knowledge and understanding we can develop a treatment plan that will help maintain your health and wellness all within your comfort level.

I have various techniques and training I employ. One of my most effective is using Hot Stones. The heat relaxes the muscles releasing body tension, although I understand it’s not for everyone. I welcome you to try it.

I am also trained in the management of TMJ disfunction, sacral balancing, fascial facet release and trigger point release, providing a variety of options to plan treatments unique to each patient.

I am incredibly excited to be here in East Van where I live and now work. I welcome all people of various stages of life to my practice, and if you have a laundry question, I might be able to help you with that as well. So… how can I help you today?

Please note: Hot Stone treatments will not be available until April 1 2023.

Thank you

I have been working as an RMT for over 22 years. I originally obtained my registration in Ontario where I grew up. After becoming registered, I decided to head to the West Coast as I fell in love with it back in my teens.

Over the years, I have worked with a lot of different conditions and age ranges. I feel comfortable treating all issues and have gained extensive experience in my many years working and learning as an RMT. I treat using your body as a guide, if your tissues are pushing me out, I work with them to allow me in and will not force it. I do have a heavier hand, but can adapt to your needs as you and your body dictate. I believe treating my clients must come from overall attention and intention in order to obtain maximum results.

Hello! I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2002. I am a traditional massage therapist - a highly trained western manual therapist and also trained in eastern philosophies, practices, and therapies.

I use an evidence-based approach and tend to work with you holistically to engage the “rest and digest” parasympathetic nervous system. Some techniques I often use are: mindfulness and breath awareness, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, warm oil deep flow, Cranial Sacral Therapy, osteopathic techniques, and compressions.

I have spent much of my 20 year massage therapy career working with women before and after pregnancy and childbirth. It is a joy and an honour to help alleviate the aches and pains of new motherhood and beyond.

I also love working to keep active people moving. I have extensive experience with this from my days practicing in a sports club, in a private practice with two superstar physios, and more recently with my North Shore active-lifestyle clients.

I use warmed oil, moderate pressure and a slow approach to deep work. The homecare I give can include movement, breath-body awareness, relaxation, hydrotherapy and hydration.

Raised in Vancouver, I have a strong love of its natural beauty, and often can be found in the forests of the North Shore. I love to travel, practice and teach ayurveda, and connect with my friends and family. I am a YA certified yoga teacher and certified ayurvedic wellness advisor who consults and teaches.
